Archery developed across the world, with evidence that bows and arrows were used even in pre-historic times.
The bow was not merely a weapon of war, although it excelled in that role. It was a also domestic tool that helped families and tribes survive and find food.
Today, archery is a sport that brings together people of all ages, from all walks of life. It is a way to meet new people while keeping up (in person) with friends. It lets you develop your coordination and physicality while also giving you a way to practise patience and mindfulness in a way that brings clear and immediate feedback about your success.
Our indoor archery range in Glasgow is suitable for beginners, and for ages 12+. We can guide you through your first steps learning how to use a bow, and can coach you to become more successful at putting your arrows into the target. You can book into an Open Archery session to get your first start with us in a relaxed social environment, or you can get a personal induction by booking into Private Tuition.
We have a variety of bows that you can borrow, and more experienced practitioners are welcome to bring your own equipment for use (the instructor must look over it first to ensure it is safe for use), with a maximum draw limit of 50 lbs.
If you are after a more casual group experience for a special occasion, just email us to make a private booking – great for birthdays, stag or hen parties, office team-building, family get-togethers, or just a night out with friends!
We have options for membership at The Vanguard Centre to join the club and reduce costs for regular attendance – we have an active community of regular archers who join us weekly or even more often! Members are welcome to join us in a casual and friendly environment to shoot regularly with different games and challenges throughout the week at dedicated members’ only sessions.
