New Dehumidifiers for the Vanguard Centre

We have made quite a large purchase of dehumidifiers for the Vanguard Centre, re-investing recent membership fees back into the Centre to make the place nicer for everyone.

We bought two quite powerful dehumidifiers, that should each be able to remove 20 litres of water from the air every day, under perfect conditions. This will supplement our current dehumidifers, and we should be removing three times as much water from the air as our current units are achieving! Needless to say, this should have a huge positive impact on how warm and dry the venue will feel to everyone inside it.

An important consideration is how much power the units draw. We don’t want to be burning electricity unnecessarily. It’s bad for the environment and also for our bank balance. These two new units, however, are incredibly efficient – the two of them together will draw less power than any one of our current dehumidifiers. In time, the plan would be to retire and phase out the older and less efficient units, making space for one or two more of these more modern, more powerful, more efficient, and more eco-friendly units.

We have some quite ambitious plans for tackling the climate inside the venue, within the parameters and rules imposed on us by the landlords. With your continued support via membership fees and attendance fees (and any donations you may feel inclined to offer!), we will continue to invest in the venue to make it warmer, drier, and more comfortable for everyone.

Next up: some higher quality (and painfully expensive) heating units!
